FAQ | neverapply.ai
The short version

neverapply is run by Valkyrie Media Advertising & AI Automation and was founded by Hendy Saint-Jacques, who noticed that every major job in his career started with a recruiter finding him. His story.

It's for anyone with a job title recruiters search for, working or between jobs. The "Is it right for me?" section below covers fit in detail.

A service that answers recruiters who email you, from your own Gmail, within minutes, with a resume tailored to their role, so you're in the conversation instead of applying into a portal.

Inside your own Gmail and Google account. Replies go out from your address, and your resumes and tracking sheet land in your Google Drive and Sheets. We don't store your emails.

Recruiters find you on the job boards and LinkedIn; the service takes over the moment one of them emails you. It works wherever recruiters reach candidates by email, in any country.

Start whenever you choose, once your resume is where recruiters search. If you are employed, while you are still happy where you are is the strongest time: you hear what the market offers without pressure, and you only move for the right role. If you were laid off, the week you update your resume on the boards is a natural start, because that is when recruiters begin to find you.

Once you are set up, each reply goes out within minutes of the recruiter email arriving, day or night, weekends included. You can pause anytime and resume when you are ready.

1. Put your resume where recruiters search and set Open to Work to recruiters only. The free playbook shows how. 2. Set up the service once, in about 15 minutes. 3. When a recruiter emails you, a reply with a tailored resume goes out within minutes, day or night.

The recruiter's next message comes to you, and a weekly pipeline report sums up what went out. If you want to approve each reply first, turn on Review Before Sending.

Because hiring rewards being found more than effort. Recruiters search by job title and work down a list, so the candidate who is easy to find and quick to answer gets the call, often ahead of someone who sent a hundred applications.

Answering every recruiter quickly, with a resume rewritten for each role, is more than one busy person can keep up. neverapply turns it into a service that runs for you. Our mission.

How it works

It's the question recruiters are really asking. Recruiters search for candidates by job title, and they reach out to the people whose title matches the role they're filling.

neverapply makes sure that when your job title gets you found, you answer: every recruiter email gets a reply within minutes, from your own Gmail, with a resume tailored to the role.

Laid off? Your last job title is still yours, and recruiters still search for it.

neverapply monitors your Gmail inbox for inbound recruiter emails. When a recruiter reaches out, neverapply automatically generates a tailored resume based on the role they're recruiting for and replies on your behalf: professionally, within minutes, from your own email address.

You don't see it happen in real time. You find out when you check your sent folder. By then, you're already in the conversation.

neverapply identifies recruiter emails from who sent them, signals in the subject line, and the language in the body. It also checks senders against a maintained list of newsletters and notification senders, and leaves alone anything that doesn't meet the threshold.

No filter is perfect, so nothing is hidden from you: your sent folder and your weekly pipeline report show exactly what went out, and to whom.

A short, confident reply built around the recruiter's email: it greets them by name, names the role, asks one pointed question about what's driving the hire, and suggests a next step. Attached is a resume tailored to that role, written from your own profile.

The tone is professional and confident. It doesn't read as automated. It reads like you on a good day, when you had time to write a thoughtful reply.

neverapply responds to the initial outreach and gets you into the conversation. If a recruiter follows up with a specific request (a portfolio link, a cover letter, references), that follow-up lands in your inbox for you to handle personally.

Think of neverapply as your first response. You take it from there. The goal is to make sure you're always in the conversation, never missing the opening because you were busy or asleep.

Yes. neverapply sends the first reply; every decision after that is yours. The reply says you're interested in the role, asks what's behind the hire, what the budget is and what the timeline is, and suggests a call. It doesn't accept an offer, agree to terms, or sign you up with a recruiter.

Whatever the recruiter sends back lands in your inbox, and you choose whether to take the call, ask for more, or say no. Every reply is in your sent folder for you to read. Want to approve every reply before it goes out? Turn on Review Before Sending in your profile, and each reply waits in your Gmail Drafts until you press Send.

Want a break? Pause from your account and the replies stop until you resume. You're free to cancel anytime, and your resumes and tracking sheet stay in your Google account.

neverapply works around the clock inside your own Google account. When a recruiter email arrives, your reply goes out within minutes, day or night, weekends included.

That puts you in the conversation while the recruiter is still working through their list, which is when interviews get booked.

Is it right for me?

Anyone with a job title recruiters search for, working or not. The service answers recruiters who email you, so it pays off most for the people recruiters already look for.

That includes laid-off managers and directors (your last job title is still yours, and recruiters still search for it), professionals doing senior work for junior pay, career changers, new graduates in fields where employers recruit, and employed people who are quietly open to a move.

If recruiters email people with your title, neverapply makes sure you're the one who answers first.

Three kinds of reader, and we'd rather tell you now than take your money.

First, if your email isn't Gmail: today the service works only inside a Gmail account (a free career Gmail takes a few minutes to set up), and setup takes Chrome on a computer. Second, if you'd rather keep your resume off the job boards: the service answers recruiters who find you, so a resume they can't find gives it nothing to answer. Third, if your field rarely hires through recruiters, such as roles filled only through internal postings, civil-service exams or union halls.

If that's you, our free how to get a job playbook is the better first step.

You can, and after the first reply you still will. neverapply handles the one part that's hard to do well every time: a fast first answer with a resume tailored to the role.

That matters because recruiters work down a list, and the candidates who answer early get the early calls. A good reply is easy when you're free. It's hard when you're at work, in an interview, asleep, or just worn out by the search. Each reply also deserves a resume rewritten for that role, which takes an hour you don't always have.

neverapply sends both within minutes, day or night, so being busy never costs you an opening. If you'd like to read each reply before it goes, turn on Review Before Sending and it waits in your Gmail Drafts.

You don't have to choose. neverapply doesn't stop you applying; it works the other side of the market, answering the recruiters who come to you.

Applying and being recruited are two different doors. When you apply, you're one resume in a pile someone has to sort. When a recruiter emails you, they've already picked you out of that pile.

Keep applying if it's working for you. The service just makes sure the people already looking for you hear back while you do.

Not on its own, and we'd rather say so. The service answers recruiters who email you, so the first job is getting found.

That part is free. Our how to get a job playbook walks through seeding your resume on the boards recruiters search, setting Open to Work to recruiters only, and writing your headline in the words recruiters type into search. The job board directory lists the boards by industry and country.

Once the emails start, neverapply makes sure every one gets an answer. For our first user, recruiter emails went from one or two every few weeks to two or three a day after she did this work with the founder's help. Individual results vary.

Because a layoff changes your situation, not your title. Your last job title is still yours, and recruiters still search for it.

Someone else decided your last move. This is how you decide the next one: every recruiter who finds you gets an answer, with a resume tailored to the role, while your days go to conversations instead of application forms.

With code RECRUITED it's $33 a month. Pause when you need a break, and cancel anytime with no fee. A week out of work costs far more than a month of the service, so one conversation that turns into an offer even a little sooner covers it many times over.

Each of those helps you reach out or get ready. neverapply is the one that answers for you when a recruiter reaches in.

Applying: you go to the employer and wait. neverapply answers recruiters who already came to you. LinkedIn Premium: helps you see and message people on LinkedIn; it doesn't reply to recruiter email for you. A resume writer: one polished resume, written once; neverapply tailors a resume to each recruiter's role, every time. A career coach: guidance and accountability, by the hour; neverapply does the repetitive part around the clock, for $33 a month with code RECRUITED.

They work well together. A coach can sharpen your story, and neverapply makes sure recruiters hear it quickly.

No. It never applies to anything, never fills in an application portal, and never contacts a company first. It only answers recruiters who emailed you.

That's the idea behind the name: you stop applying and start answering.

No. Your job titles, employers, dates and certifications come straight from the profile you give us, exactly as you wrote them, and they never change.

What's tailored is the emphasis: which of your real results and skills lead, written in the language of the recruiter's role. A resume that claims something you can't back up in an interview would cost you the job, so the service is built not to.

No, because you only ever write to recruiters who wrote to you first. neverapply answers a recruiter's opening message; their follow-ups come to you to answer yourself.

A recruiter who emails a candidate wants a reply. A quick, relevant answer with a resume for their exact role is the reply they were hoping for.

About 15 minutes, once. You need a Gmail account, Chrome on a computer for the setup itself, your current resume, a short profile, and a booking link if you want recruiters to schedule calls directly.

The setup guide walks through each step. After that, the service runs inside your Google account, day or night.

You choose: keep it, pause it, or cancel.

Keeping it means recruiters who search for your new title still hear back, and the best time to learn what you're worth is when you don't need to move. It runs quietly in a Gmail account you own, so your new employer can't see it.

If you'd rather take a break, pause from your account. If you cancel, there's no fee, and your resumes and tracking sheet stay in your Google account.

Installing in Chrome

No. Setup needs Chrome on a computer: a Mac, a Windows PC or a Chromebook. It takes about 15 minutes, once. After that, your phone is where you'll see recruiters writing back.

Setup uses Chrome for now. You only need Chrome for the 15 minutes of setup, so you can install it, set up, and go back to the browser you like.

We'd advise against it. Use a computer you own, signed in to your career Gmail. Work computers often block extensions installed this way, and your job search shouldn't live on equipment your employer manages.

The one you're signed in to when you click Connect with Google. Pick the account recruiters email. We recommend one just for your career (see "Is it safe to connect my Gmail?" below).

Not yet. We're bringing neverapply to the Chrome Web Store in 2027. Google's review takes a while, so for now you install it directly from us.

You can see exactly what's in the folder before you load it, and it can only see its own setup screens. Once the listing is live, installing will be a single click.

Yes. Chrome shows that notice for any extension installed from a folder instead of the Chrome Web Store. It isn't a sign that anything is wrong.

Only its own setup screens. It has no permission to read the websites you visit or your browsing history. It can only talk to neverapply and your Google account.

When you click Connect with Google, Google shows what the service needs: to set up your neverapply folder, tracking sheet and profile document in your Drive, and to answer recruiters from your Gmail. Everything it creates stays in your Google account.

You chose the outer folder. Unzipping, especially on a Mac, often makes a folder inside a folder. Click Load unpacked again, open the outer folder, and choose the neverapply folder inside it.

It's in the top right corner of chrome://extensions. If it's missing or greyed out, your Chrome is managed by an employer or school. Use a computer you own.

Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar and pin neverapply.

If you've finished setup, nothing is wrong: the service runs in your Google account, not in the extension, so your replies keep going. If it happened before you finished, keep in mind Chrome runs the extension from the folder you chose. Move the neverapply folder somewhere it can stay, such as Documents, and load it again from chrome://extensions.

No. Once you're set up, the service runs in your Google account, so replies go out within minutes even when your laptop is closed. You can even remove the extension.

Click Remove on neverapply in chrome://extensions. Once setup is done, the extension's job is finished: the service keeps running in your Google account without it. Removing it doesn't stop your replies, delete your profile, resumes or tracking sheet, or cancel your plan. To stop replies, pause or cancel from My Account.

Your data & privacy

You do. Your emails, your resume and your profile live in your own Google account, and neverapply works there too. We don't store your emails, and we don't cache or keep your requests. To tailor each resume, the details it needs are routed to our AI providers for that request, and that's the end of it. The only thing we keep is what runs your account: your email address, your plan and your billing status.

Your resumes, your tracking sheet and your profile document sit in your Google Drive, your Gmail and your Google Sheets: in your account, under your control.

No. neverapply only looks at new emails that appear job-related, decides which are real recruiter outreach, and replies to those. It never stores your email, and it leaves the rest of your inbox alone.

That check happens inside your own Google account. The only thing that leaves it is what's needed to tailor your resume, routed to our AI providers for that request and never stored by us.

The service works inside your own Google account. Your emails, resumes and tracking sheet stay there, not on our servers. We don't store your emails, and we don't keep your requests. To tailor each resume, only the details it needs are sent to our AI providers for that request. It looks only at new emails that appear job-related and leaves the rest of your inbox alone.

We recommend a Gmail account just for your career. Something like [email protected] instead of [email protected]. It's free, takes a few minutes, and gives you three things:

  • A professional first impression. Recruiters see your name, not a nickname from 2009.
  • A clean line between work and personal life. Your family photos, bank statements and personal threads never sit in the same account as your job search.
  • One place for your whole career. Every recruiter conversation, resume and lead lives in one account. It stays with you from job to job and is easy to pause or close if you ever want to.

Put that address on your resume, LinkedIn and the job boards, so recruiters email the account the service is watching. Then sign in to that account in Chrome when you install.

No. neverapply runs in a Gmail account you own, never a work account. We recommend one just for your career, separate from your personal email. Replies go out from that address, and your employer has no visibility into it.

On LinkedIn, set your Open to Work status to "visible to recruiters only". That LinkedIn setting hides the green badge from your network while still surfacing you in recruiter searches. Instructions are on our job boards page.

Pricing & billing

Free products don't get used. Free products don't get valued. When something costs nothing, it signals that it's worth nothing, and people treat it that way. They sign up, never set it up, and wonder why it didn't work.

Paying, even a little, makes you a customer with skin in the game. People who pay for something are far more likely to set it up and use it.

With code RECRUITED the price is $33/month for as long as you stay subscribed (a one-time offer). That's less than a tank of gas, working for you every hour of every day.

No. Use code RECRUITED at checkout and your rate is $33/month for as long as your subscription stays active. The standard price is $200/month, so that's $167 off every month. It doesn't step up after a month, a year, or ever, as long as you stay subscribed.

RECRUITED is a one-time offer: if you cancel, it can't be reapplied, and returning members pay the standard $200/month. Need a break instead? Pause from your account and your rate stays.

You're free to cancel anytime. There's no contract and no cancellation fee.

That depends entirely on what your career is worth to you.

If you're unemployed at $70,000 a year, every week costs you about $1,350. With code RECRUITED, neverapply is $33/month. If it helps you land a role even a few days sooner, it has paid for itself for years.

If you're employed and land a role that pays $10,000 more, that's the next 25 years of neverapply covered by one raise.

If you're a new grad and land your first real job at $55,000, week one covers the next decade of subscriptions.

The question isn't whether $33/month is a lot. The question is what a single recruiter email, answered within minutes instead of left for later, is worth to you.

It sounds right, and it's backwards. You have been paying to get a job your whole life. Tuition, sometimes six figures of it, for a credential whose only purpose was employment. Gas and transit passes to physically get yourself to work. The interview suit, the parking at the career fair, the certification renewal, the résumé writer, the LinkedIn Premium month you forgot to cancel. Nobody calls any of that "paying to work." It's just the cost of being in the game.

The job is a paid position. Getting to it has always cost something. The only real question is whether that money goes toward things that actually move the needle.

A tank of gas gets you to an office you might be laid off from next year. neverapply answers every recruiter who finds you, within minutes, while you sleep, and one reply that turns into an offer covers years of it. It's the cheapest line in your job-search budget, and the only one with a real shot at paying you back.

Not while you stay subscribed. Code RECRUITED locks your rate at $33/month for as long as you stay subscribed. It isn't a limited-time or limited-seat promotion.

It is a one-time offer. If you cancel, the code can't be reapplied, and coming back later means the standard $200/month. Want a break without losing it? Pause from your account instead of cancelling, and your $33 rate stays.

The standard price is $200/month. RECRUITED is the rate for anyone who uses the code at checkout: no cohorts and no countdown, and the one condition is stated right here.

The hard questions

No. And the fact that you're asking this question says something important about the asymmetry of the current job market.

Recruiters use AI to search databases of millions of candidates. They use automation to send outreach at scale. They have contact lists, tools, and systems specifically designed to find and contact you faster than you can find them. They are operating with significant technological leverage.

neverapply is your leverage. It responds to inbound interest on your behalf: professionally, accurately, with your real background. You're not misrepresenting yourself. You're not gaming anything. You're just not slow anymore.

The interview is still yours to win. neverapply just makes sure you get the chance.

Our first user outside the founder's own job searches was Dr. Irina Kushnir, a board-certified internal medicine physician. She seeded her resume, we rewrote her LinkedIn and resume in recruiter language, and turned the service on. Recruiter inbound went from one or two every few weeks to two or three a day. Forty-five days after signing up, she had two remote offers to choose from.

In her words: "I don't know if I would have gotten these offers on my own. Maybe I would have, but it would have taken me a longer time and I would have been stressing a lot more."

Full disclosure: she is a founding user who worked directly with our founder during onboarding, and the service was still being fine-tuned while she used it. Her recorded interview is embedded on our how to get a job page. Individual results vary.

The response comes from your email address, uses your name, speaks to the specific role they mentioned, and attaches a resume built from your real background. There is nothing in the response that signals automation.

And even if a recruiter suspected automation, the response already did its job: you're in the conversation. The follow-up is you, in person, being yourself. That's where the job is won or lost. neverapply just opens the door.

That's actually the best time to use neverapply.

When you're not desperate, you negotiate differently. When you have three conversations running in the background while you're still employed, you don't accept the first offer that comes along. You have leverage. You have options. You have information about what the market thinks you're currently worth.

neverapply runs quietly. Your employer doesn't know. Your colleagues don't know. Your LinkedIn connections don't know. You always know what's out there, and you're always positioned to take advantage of it.

You decline politely. "Thank you for reaching out. After learning more, this role isn't the right fit for me right now, but I appreciate the conversation."

This is normal recruiter interaction. Recruiters hear this constantly. It doesn't burn bridges. It actually builds your reputation as someone who is thoughtful about fit, which makes you more attractive for the right role when it comes along.

Not responding at all does far more damage to your professional reputation than a polite decline.

neverapply works anywhere you have a Gmail account and recruiter inbound traffic. The product runs inside your Google account, so location doesn't affect how it works.

The job boards page includes boards for the UK, Australia, Canada, and international roles. If you're in a market where recruiter outreach via email is common, neverapply works for you.
